Travel within 80 km or an hour and a half of Murwillumbah is included, whichever gets you there; beyond both it is $1 per kilometre, round trip. Booking fee $250, which comes off the total. Witnesses supplied at $60 each. Council permits for beach and park ceremonies are booked and paid for directly with the council, and are not included. The Gold Coast is about 40 minutes from Murwillumbah. Travel within 80 km or an hour and a half of Murwillumbah is included; beyond that it is $1 per kilometre round trip. Allow about four months for a weekend date in season. Venues ## Where on the Gold Coast - Currumbin - Burleigh Heads - Palm Beach - Broadbeach - Surfers Paradise - Sanctuary Cove - Springbrook - Gold Coast Farm House - Currumbin Rock Pools Ceremonies on public beaches, reserves and parks usually need a permit, which you book and pay for directly with the council or land manager. The requirements and fees vary between councils and sites, and they are not included in the ceremony fee. ## Venue weddings and council weddings are different bookings A wedding at Gold Coast Farm House or one of the Springbrook properties is one booking: they hold their own ceremony approvals, they have a wet weather room, and they will tell you what hour the light is good on their own lawn. A wedding at Currumbin, Burleigh or Palm Beach is two bookings, because the City of Gold Coast books the site and the reception is somewhere else. That second shape needs a transfer written into the run sheet. Twenty minutes from Currumbin to a Burleigh restaurant on a Saturday afternoon in March is not twenty minutes, and the gap between a ceremony finishing and a room opening is where a wedding day quietly loses an hour. ## Booking against the Gold Coast calendar Six to twelve months for a Saturday between September and April is the honest answer, and I am rarely the constraint. It is the venue first, the photographer second and the council site third. Schoolies in late November and the fortnight either side of Christmas make accommodation for your guests the hardest part of the whole exercise. Midweek is a genuinely different market. Monday to Thursday the ceremony is $950 rather than $1,200, council sites are available, the beaches are empty at eight in the morning and every other supplier has room to move. A Wednesday wedding in May is the easiest good wedding to book on this coast. ## The paperwork, in QLD A ceremony on the Gold Coast is recorded by the Queensland Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages, because a marriage is registered in the state it took place in. A standard certificate there is $58.10, and its own registry ceremony is $410.60 on a weekday.
